Tune in and HANG ON! Host Dennis Pittsenbarger has a passion for Motor sports and a Need For Speed. Dennis has been the host of Speed & Racing Television broadcasting from the Pacific Northwest, and now brings his years of experience in competitive Motorsports and his first hand knowledge of anything on wheels to schoolofhotrod.com.
Dennis, a Portland Oregon native, is a racer, automobile aficionado, avid motorcyclist and is always searching for the latest news, product reviews and stories to share with an even broader audience than before.
‘Pitts’ was a born an automotive fanatic. At an early age he began working with local automotive refinishing program. He graduated in 1989 with his ASE certification, but quickly learned that racing is where he would ultimately find his quest for glory.
Few other drivers can claim to have driven at Road America, SIR, Portland International, Laguna Seca, G.A.S.S. series and Watkins Glen. And while road and dirt racing track speeds are impressive, Dennis can boast of having been part in the first funny car team to hit 300 mph - at the national drag racing Winter Nationals edging out the legendary John Force himself.
In the early 90’s, Dennis took a day job managing a large Pacific Northwest Auto Dealership. His career quickly shifted gears as he took over as lead journalist for the Pacific Northwest's largest alternative newspaper. From there Dennis’s automotive review career only blossomed. Soon after, Dennis was the head of the automotive department for a 17 newspaper conglomerate. Moving forward on the success of his print reviews, Dennis soon found he was a natural for the open mic. Hitting the airways at full speed, he began Hosting and Co-hosting three of his own programs and taking part in the largest morning and afternoon programs in the region.
With his career in radio firmly on track, Dennis turned his sites toward television and joined up with a team where he developed and ran a television crew using the active programming that he designed himself. In 2006 Pitts moved into the network division at the now defunct CW, and in 2008, he caught the attention of the Comcast Sportsnet Network where SRTV Speed and Racing Television began broadcasting on over 45 television stations across the Pacific Northwest.
Pittsenbarger is now blessed with the opportunity to work on the roll out of 'School of Hot Rod' radio and is currently in the drivers seat as host of one of the largest and most highly anticipated automotive talk shows of it’s time. With the backing of Benchmark Entertainment and the resources of their dream team, this show aims to bring back the fun and excitement to today's automotive radio. The return of the pure 'car-guy mentality' - from a guy that eats and breathes the love and passion for all things automotive. If you've been dying to hear car talk from a true “car guy” then Tune in and HANG ON with the all new schoolofhotrod.com.
